Nowadays, bio-building re-proposes old materials such as raw-earth bricks and wood panels (or mineralized wood fiber) to obtain better energy results, but above all to guarantee the wholesomeness of the rooms.

Green building proposes to use wood where it is possible for structures because it is a bad conductor of heat and being biodegradable it is in equilibrium with the environment.

Other derivatives proposed are insulating panels of wood fiber that is mineralized to make them resistant to fire.

It is also proposed the use of special bricks perforated in terra cotta that create in isolation through the inner tube formed inside them.

Or the use of earthen bricks is proposed for their ease of disposal and their thermal inertia given by their thickness and the characteristics of the material itself.

Plasters are also preferred in lime for their breathability and environmental compatibility.

What is thermal transmittance

Often to understand if a material is a good insulator we talk about thermal transmittance.

This parameter indicates the amount of heat that can pass in a given material in a given time at a given temperature.

This tells us how insulating it is, in fact the lower the transmittance the better is its insulating capacity.
